Congratulations to team Genesis for winning our Sunday League championship! This game featured two of the top offenses in the league, and it sure didn't disappoint in the points department. Genesis defeated the Wet Mob, 80-76 in a tight battle. Early in the game, finals MVP Arik "Goof" Navarette jumpstarted Genesis with 15 points in the first half. They took a commanding lead early in the game. The upstart Wet Mob did not have any quit in them as they brought the game close in the 4th quarter led by the regular season MVP Colin and Sebastian, scoring 21 and 22 points respectively. But Genesis were unphased. Every time the Wet Mob went on a run, Genesis had an answer, whether it be a 3 or a key play. Finals MVP Arik did an outstanding job containing the season MVP Colin and was ultimately the difference maker as he had to work harder for his points. The Wet Mob showed a ton of resillience, but the experience and composure of Genesis was too much to overcome for the upstart team. Genesis got key contributions from Marco who scored 22 points and had the hot hand, and from Mike who controlled the tempo of the game and played excellent defense. The Wet Mob had a great Cinderella story, but unfortunately not every story has a happy ending. Congratulations once again to Genesis!

REGULAR SEASON MVP:

Colin Suarez (Wet Mob)

Stats: 26.4 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 2.9 APG, 3.1 SPG, 0.1 BPG.

Colin earned the regular season MVP with a "never say die" attitude. Many games, he was on a short-handed team and he decided to take matters into his own hands. Colin put on a flurry of offense shown by his 26.4 PPG and 2.9 APG. He helped make his team one of the top scoring offenses in the league. Colin shows no fear on the court, no matter who is guarding him. You can only hope to contain him because shutting down his offense is no simple task. He is one of the most explosive players when taking to the rack and he will either finish or get free throws, which also makes him very efficient. Teams also can't forget that he has a lot of range and can get hot in a hurry. Not to mention he has very good instincts on defense with his 3.1 SPG. Colin is one of the best at reading passes and getting easy points in transition. Although his team may not have had the record they wanted, there is no denying his consistency and his performance. Without Colin, his team would have struggled even more, but he took the challenge of getting his team a playoff spot. Congratulations once again Colin!

Honorable mentions:

James (Colossal): 15.0 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 3.3 APG, 1.6 SPG, 0.1 BPG.

Noel (Dream Team): 10.5 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 2.6 APG, 2.4 SPG, 1.0 BPG.
